CI works with ASU on the Guyana: Resilient and One project to advance Guyana’s sustainable economy through investments in education, research, sustainable management and conservation of the country’s vast ecosystems.

The Department of Environment, under the Ministry of the Presidency, oversees the activities of environmental compliance and management, protected areas development and management, national parks management and wildlife conservation and protection.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has the responsibility to manage, conserve, and protect the environment. and ensure the sustainable use of Guyana’s natural resources.

CI works with the EPA on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector.

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is an international partnership of 183 countries, international institutions, civil society organizations and the private sector that addresses the planet’s most pressing environmental issues.

CI works with GEF on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector. With the funding of GEF, CI also works with partners to maintain the health and longevity of North Brazil Shelf (NBS) mangroves.

Government of Cooperative Republic of Guyana

CI is working with the Government of Guyana towards integrating the value of natural capital in national development strategies and programs to bring Guyana closer to a green state.

The Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) is responsible for the administration and management of all State Forest land and advising on forest policy and regulations.

CI works with the GFC on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector. We also work with the GFC to map and preserve the North Brazil Shelf (NBS) mangroves.

The Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) is the official repository of all information on Guyana’s mineral resources.

CI works with the GGMC on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector.

The Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA) is committed to the rights of miners, bargain on behalf of the mining community, and promote the growth and development of the industry.

CI works with the GGDMA on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector.

Guyana Women Miners Organisation (GWMO) is dedicated to improving the conditions of women in all sectors mining.

CI works with the GWMO on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector.

The Inter-American Development Bank aims to achieve development in in Latin America and the Caribbean in a sustainable, climate-friendly way.

The Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MoIPA) works to enhance the social, economic and environmental well-being of Indigenous Peoples and their lands.

CI works with MoIPA on the Sustainable Villages project which creates planning guides for communities to achieve their own long-term development goals.

The mandate of the Ministry of Natural Resources (MoNR) is to develop, implement and oversee policies for the responsible exploration, development and utilization of natural resources whilst ensuring the protection and conservation of the environment and advancement of the green economy.

CI works with the MoNR on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector.

The National Agricultural Research Extension Institute (NAREI) promotes greater efficiency in the crops and agricultural product industry.

CI works with NAREI and other partners to map and preserve the North Brazil Shelf (NBS) mangroves.

The National Toshaos Council (NTC) is a semi autonomous organization that comprises of all Toshaos in Guyana.

CI works with the NTC on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector. CI also has a partnership with the NTC to build the capacity of the Council.

The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) aims to ensure that Norwegian development aid funds are spent in the best possible way.

CI works with NORAD on the El Dorado Gold project to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly approaches to mining in Guyana’s artisanal, small and medium-scale gold mining sector.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) coordinates the United Nations’ environmental activities and assists countries in implementing environmentally sound policies and practices.
